Joubertsdam
Water Temperature: 14.8 ‘C
Depth: 12.1m
Visibility: 2.5m
Number of Sharks: 4+8
Conditions: Sunny and calm.

Today was the best weather day we have had in ages, sunny and calm conditions with a dash of flying sharks! We spotted 5 Southern Right Whales on our first – and 3 on our second trip, some Humpback Dolphins, a Caspian Tern and about 50 000 Cape Fur Seals on Geyser Rock! I haven’t even mentioned The Great White Sharks yet, not a bad day to be an Ecologist with Marine Dynamics if you ask me. We had slightly better visibility on our second trip, however “Hotspot” was flying out of the water on both. We were also lucky to have David Pocock (Australian Rugby Player) and his partner join us out on the water today. Needless to say I did not bring up the topic of rugby on the boat, especially not after South Africa beat the Aussies over the weekend. David is quite a Big Boy and I did not want to upset him :)! Spectacular day out…
