Trip 1
What a beautiful day to spend out on the water and of course diving and watching White sharks. This morning’s trip started off well with the first shark spotted only 20 minutes after arrival. We were lucky enough to see a large number of sharks with a size range of 2.5m to 3.6m in length. One of these animals was a shark that was tagged by Dyer Island Conservation Trust mid September which we are lucky enough to still be seeing in the bay.

Trip 2
The second trip got off to an even greater start with a shark on arrival with the tagged shark from the first trip back again. This trip also saw different individuals from this morning with many of our well known White sharks turning up such as the juvenile male known to us as “Vuvuzela” and the large female recently named “Chama Tica”.

Trip 3
The third and final trip of the day saw a small White shark approach the boat soon after we arrived back in the Shallows. This little shark made a hasty retreat as a large, dark female made her way in dominating the waters around the boat. This was “Chama Tica” back again and it looked like she was there to stay as she visited us for the entire afternoon with her slow, determined movements around the boat providing a perfect opportunity for our guests to take a good look. Interestly enough it was the males that really showed off this trip and became the favourites, with two tagged animals and one very large, impressive and active male. A great trip to finish and a fantastic day to be a visitor in the White shark Capital of the world, Gansbaai, South Africa.
