Where to start…. Fins up people and scream if you wanna go louder! Let’s start with our sharks today! We had a couple of copper sharks cruise by as we got on the anchor this morning, so as our divers geared up we got them in the cage to witness some sharky action. Not 20 minutes into the trip and we had seen some seal and some sharks, and then bam up pops Mini Nemo!!! And were we happy to see him and his stubby lil pectoral! He was awesome throughout the trip giving our seal decoy a bit of a hammering, and giving our cage divers some excellent activity. He stuck around coming and going as he pleased for every cage that got in today so we were very lucky!! Towards the end of the trip we even had a stingray pop up and say hello, so you know what that means! We were Triple S diving today!!!!! But wait there’s more, on our way out for the first trip we saw a lone Bryde’s Whale ambling around in the morning sunshine, as well as a few small rafts of penguins! We even saw the same whale on our way back into the harbour! A truly stunning adventure this morning, and our second trip did not let us down either! With a white shark joining us very soon after gearing up and getting the cage secured! While this trip may not have had as diverse of animals around, we did end up with 3 different white sharks, and a handful of copper sharks paying us a visit. Our first white shark on this trip was a 3.8 meter female we know as “Anarchy.” She has a very distinct injury to her tail, with the upper lobe almost completely gone and cut at a near 90 degree angle. She stuck with us throughout the trip, only dissapearing when we were visited by 2 larger females. One startled us all, flying out of the water just a meter in front of the cage, showing everyone the true power and beauty that these animals possess. She was followed by another slightly larger female at approximately 4.3 meters long and incredibly enquisitive. We truly couldn’t have asked for a better way to end our week. FOUR different white sharks in one day! We hope they stay around in the bay and we can come visit them another day.
