Location: The Shallows
Water Temperature: 20.5

Depth: 10 m

Visibility: 1 m

Number of Sharks: First Trip (9 Sharks) – Second Trip (5 Sharks)

Conditions: 2-3 m swell, 10-15 knots NW wind.

A bright sunny start to the day, the guests on our first trip were lucky enough to observe 9 great white sharks and a short-tailed stingray also popped up to the bait to investigate. Amongst the individuals seen, Jacob, a 4 m male showed up and wowed the boat with his size and charisma at the decoy. The second trip got off to a wet start as the rains fell over Gansbaai. However, the rain eventually stopped as we got to anchor. The second trip also saw Jacob who was infrequently approaching the bait and the decoy throughout the day. Although the second trip had to wait patiently for long periods of time between the shark action, action there was, with a total of 5 white sharks coming through and a couple of good chomps at the decoy. Jacob actually bit off part of the decoy. Overall a successful day for our shark fans!
