Whenever Slashfin launches, you can feel the excitement and hopefulness of what the day may bring for us. Today we launched quite a bit later than usual due to a very low tide, with the sun shining overhead, causing us to wonder if winter really is on its way or not. Once on anchor, it didn’t take long before we had our first shark at the boat, a beautiful copper shark (AKA bronze whaler AKA bronzie) that was also the first shark that some on board had ever seen before! We had several great sightings of the bronzies, with some moments of slow activity. At one point we even had 2 in front of the cage at one time! Such lucky divers! While the white sharks eluded us today, we were grateful to still see some of our other cartilaginous fish friends, the bronzies. We also had a massive stingray come to visit from below, flapping its fins at our bait line. Despite the lack of white sharks, it was a great day at sea with some amazing sightings of our bronzies.
