Location: Joubertsdam
Water Temperature: 15.2’C + 15.0’C
Depth:  9 m + 9.3 m
Visibility:  0.5-1 m + 0.5 m
Number of White Sharks: 4 + 3
Conditions: Not a flat sea day, with some swell throughout the day and wind picking up at midday.

Poor sea conditions kept us away from the ocean yesterday, so as the sun rose today we were curious if our white sharks had stuck around or if they began to venture off to continue on their migration. We were in for some luck with only a 40 minute wait before we had our first white shark! It was a 3.4 meter female with lots of black scarring along her right side. We also had a few small juveniles with one approximately 2.8 meters long and the smallest at approximately 2.1 meters long. These young sharks were dwarfed as a large 3.6 meter white shark surfaced, and everyone immediately could tell that this was a larger sized shark. It was no the star of this trip as it quickly disappeared, but fortunately our first shark seemed to stick around a bit and gave us a few more passes before leaving. We also got to see a bronze whaler shark and a short-tailed stingray, as well as a few skuas. Despite the chill in the air, it was a nice trip filled with diverse sea life! The second trip of the day had a little bit of a waiting time with the first shark to appear a Copper shark, the same on as was seen on the earlier trip. The White shark appeared soon after, very quickly coming up towards the bait line before disappearing, this was the approximate 3.5m female with a bite scar on the right flank and white pigmentation on the left side of the dorsal fin. We then had some very deep passes from sharks and Short-tailed stingrays before we picked up anchor and moved deeper to try our luck there. With this new anchor came two new sharks, both juvenile White sharks, one very shy but the other took a good attempt on our little seal decoy giving our guests on board a view 9of the animals head above the water. A big thank you to our guests today for there patience out on the water.
