Conditions: Flat, calm seas with a slight wind.
Trip 1
Whilst it was an overcast day the conditions on the water were confortable with a light wind and little swell. Today’s guests had no waiting time this morning with a shark sighted almost instantly, a large female over 4.0m in length, an impressive introduction of the White shark for those on board! The next shark was one to keep an eye on as it glided deep down then made surprise approaches to the surface. We were lucky enough to see “Paisley” an estimated 3.4m female that was acoustically tagged by Dyer Island Conservation Trust in December last year as well as one of our adopted and named sharks, “Ashnn” a small female juvenile whose name is short for “A Shark Has No Name” a quote from a popular television series.
Trip 2
The second trip of the day was greeted by “Ashnn” not long after arriving back into the Shallows and then again by the first shark of the day. This trip also saw some different sharks to the first trip including a juvenile female by the name of “3Bird” who was first spotted around the Islands during our Winter season and made the move into the Shallows with the season change back in August.
Trip 3
The third and final trip of the day saw all of the named and famed sharks from the previous trips including the tagged female “Paisley”, the adopted female “3Bird” but also another small female adopted and named “Sarko” and a large female, “Scarlett” known to the team at Marine Dynamics by her impressive bite scars and amazing calm, slow and determined movements around the boat.
