Marine Dynamics Blog

Day: August 22, 2012

A fantastic day of leaping sharks, we were also able to capture a seals perspective on a approaching Great white shark. One of our volunteers was willing to place his GoPro cameras on the line by attaching it to the bottom of our seal decoy. It was nerve renching to watch, the tense moments were more surrounding the fact that the footage might be lost at any moment, the camera could be replaced :)! Some great sharks in the size range of 4.5 meters who came very close to the cage at times! Great to see the nervous faces of the people in the cage and then the relief that always follows the thrill! What a day…

Have you ever heard that white sharks can have +30,000 teeth in their lifetime or 50,000 or 75,000!! This shark fact blog bites into the topic of shark teeth…
